Sustainable Development Goals

There they are, the Sustainable Development Goals, defined by the United Nations. Quite colorful!

Yes, they are colorful, in addition they are totally generic and stay rather on the surface. I asked myself: “Are they any good?“ And my answer is: Yes!

Without a common mission, organizations won't be able to redirect their transformation path towards successful conversion. This applies for individual companies and their employees, as well as for the earth and its inhabitants.

Developed by task groups of the UN, the 17 SDG can be very useful, as they can set the agenda and are easy to remember.

It is important to reach a mutual understanding. At this point, every involved person will conceive an identical vision. That all of us “Are talking about the same thing” is the foundation of my work. Not until then will we be able to act in synergy. Even though this won't solve all of your challenges - resolution will be getting closer and the way ahead will be gone in a joint effort.

Responsibilities should be equally distributed, otherwise you can lose track of your target. After thoroughly contemplating the SDG, I came up with 5 from 17 goals to focus on in my endeavours.

In no way, does this imply that the other goals are to be regarded as obsolete or should be left out. The chosen five goals though represent my special focus and can be affected specific and immediately by my work.

So which of these goals do you deem relevant for yourself?
